hello luxury shower, goodbye bathtub?

The trend today to opt for a master bathroom that features a large luxury shower and forgo a tub altogether is becoming more popular and acceptable. Maintaining a tub somewhere in the home (be it a children's or guest bathroom), seems to reconcile most homeowners' concern over resale issues in the future. The question is, why considerof leaving out a tub in the master bathroom?

* Great to begin your day with an invigurating shower,

* Wonderful to end your day with a massaging shower that nurtures your mood.

* The extra room in the bathroom can allow for a larger vanity/sink area with better storage

* The water savings on a shower vs filling a tub

* Lifestyle was too busy to really allow for soaking in a bath anyways

* Easier access to the shower for elderly when no lip is needed and can feature a larger shower entry

* Design options

These are certainly the most popular reasons my clients and I defer to. Making the leap to a bathroom that is tubless can be a bit traumatic for some at first, and should be entered into after careful thought as to what really works for you. Indulging in an environment that suits your tastes and needs, can have a joyful impact on your life. By customizing the master bathroom to reflect those tastes and needs, my clients are free to decide what they want, not what is customary. The design for a luxury shower can be completly customized, regarding size, enclosure, and materials. As a designer, this is nearly carte blanche. The above pictured luxury showers, may be of some inspiration as to weighing your decision.
